You can use any nuts you have on hand. I recommend raw nuts such as walnuts, almonds, macadamia, chia seeds, sunflower and pumpkin. I keep these stocked in my pantry. You can get them at an affordable price in the links above.

Your go-to honey yoghurt bowl for a high-protein, fibre-rich, and nutrient dense breakfast done in just 5 minutes. Just mix the yoghurt and scoop out your family’s favourite nut, fruit and chocolate toppings for a fuss-free super healthy breakfast.

You will save at least $10 compared to buying sweetened yoghurts – and you get full control over the sugar, sweetness and ingredients. I recommend Alva’s Plain Natural Yoghurt as it is made in Singapore (support local!). It is one of the most affordable yoghurt tubs I’ve found and its perfect for everyone.

Kids love this breakfast because it is completely customisable – they get to choose their own toppings and mix it themselves and make it “their way”. Giving them little bit of control makes breakfast more un and they’re more likely to finish it without fussing.

How to serve honey yoghurt bowl for babies and toddlers

Children under 1 should avoid honey so sweeten the yoghurt with a mashed banana instead. You can also slice the banana up for everyone else to enjoy. You can also add stewed or steamed apple or pears as a dressing.

Variations for hungry adults and teenagers

  • Serve with golden corn flakes for extra carbohydrates
  • Add variety of healthy chopped fruits for extra fibre

Budget tips

Buy nuts in bulk to lower your cost. Keep it stocked in the pantry so you always have it on hand.

You don’t have to use berries in yoghurt bowls especially if they are not in season as they can cost more. Instead, use any fruit you have on hand – in this photo, we have rose apple and guava.

Busy day tips

  • Create your own healthy nut pre-mix ahead of time.
  • Teach this to your older children and they can prepare this as part of their contribution to the family.
